Turning Dreams into Success
Program Success
Success takes many different forms, and our metrics for success has been developed to tell the story of each child and how the child has derived value from the support that they have received from the donors and the EOTO team, through a mix of quantitative and qualitative measures. Similarly, our metrics for the success of our programs and our success as an organization capture how well we're doing today, and how effectively we're striving to be even better tomorrow.
Program success refers to how effective our sponsorship programs are: From the selection of our children, to the support we provide each EOTO member to help them succeed and to our methods of evaluation ensuring they align with our values.
We believe that by providing the basic necessities such as health, medical, housing, education, nourishment and supplemental income makes a difference. We believe that by providing the basic necessities it teaches children to dream big, and empowers them to pursue these dreams. An investment in the basic necessities is not just an investment in children, but in the prosperity and well-being of communities over the long-term.
When we evaluate the success of our programs, we use a broad range of short-term, long-term, quantitative and qualitative measures to capture the myriad ways in which basic necessities can make a difference.
One example of monitoring the value of education in the short-term is by reviewing the grades that EOTO scholars attain at school.
However, a child's progress cannot be reduced solely to a set of numbers or letter grades, but by keeping in close contact with EOTO scholars while they are attending secondary school and after they have graduated.
Their families and their teachers are able to gauge their development, track their successes, identify areas for improvement, and tell their stories both in the short and long term in a much more meaningful way.
EOTO is committed to continuous improvement and an integral element of our sponsorship programs is to open two-way channels of communications that connect our donors with our volunteers, children that are sponsored. This allows us to learn from their experiences and helps us to adapt our programs accordingly.
